How did you get the mfd to show directional compass?

Just code the navi into the CAN gateway [37] using VCDS. Dead easy.

I don't have the Nav fitted which obviously explains why I can't get that function. Obvious when you think about it.

Hey Norbreck21a,regarding detailing ( as i liked your results !) I too am going to remove the wheels to clean and seal them ( I should have done them months ago). Using my trolley jack and axle stands, chocks, blocks of wood etc...where did you find the best jack point and axle stand points front and rear on the GT for it to hold for a good while? so i can take my time getting the wheels sorted. The vehicle lifting points in the manual look fine for the vw standard jack- but the rubber grommit points were where i was thinking to lift from with a small piece of wood on the trolley jack... however i have concerns where to put the axle stands. I plan to leave the trolley jack in place as a back up.

Regarding the paint work- clayed all areas, then with my DA machine used lime prime ( excellent for water mark removal and faint swirls) followed by 2-3 coats of jet seal! all the nooks and crannies done by hand. Wow the blue silk seriously pops now and the black gloss shows no signs of any swirls whatsoever. The metallics glitter in the sun and the colour is deeper than before (even on a dull day now), plus the paint work is as smooth as glass now, well worth it. However may need a coat of wax, as much as i am impressed by the jet seal i think it doesn't rid dried rain marks as well as wax. Used the Gtecniq 3 step glass polish/sealant range and that is well worth it, don't need to use my wipers nearly as much and no water marking -amazing stuff. I will never let a dealership wash my GT again!!!... ha ha.

Looks great. I've just the Volkswagen UK press car in for test and it is truly impressive. Thought not quite as good economy as I was expecting - high 40s and low 50s. But still good for a petrol car: http://t.co/fXzcwMpFjU

Would be interested in adding you to the 'our cars' section of PoloDriver.com if you're interested in updating readers on the car on an irregular basis. Email me at rich@polodriver.com if you like the idea.

Hi, really nice car! I myself have a 13 reg VW Polo 1.4 SEL, I upgraded its radio system to RNS 510 recently, however, I found that the factory fitted bluetooth touch screen kit (part number 000051473C) works separately with the RNS 510 system, for example, when you press the button ‘phone’ on the navigation head unit, it comes to mute only, when you try voice command on the navigation head unit the microphone from the Bluetooth kit seems not picking up your words. Anyway, I’ve done some research and I found if I want them to work as one system I must install a Bluetooth module (interface) to my navigation system, it contains VW Bluetooth Module 7P6035730K, Bluetooth Mic 3B0035711B, Foam Cover, SDS Wiring Harness. I would swap the bluetooth kit by myself but I don’t know how to remove the existing bluetooth kit first and also I don’t know how can you put the new bluetooth module under the seat like a OEM style? It is really annoying that you can’t have the bluetooth and navigation worked as one system. Do you have any suggestions? Could you please post some pics or videos to show how can you put the bluetooth module under the seat? Thanks, Shaun

Just a quick update to say that today I've just finished adding the automatic lights feature to the wifes Blue GT, with all parts and instructions provided by this forums Ciclo.

He's a top guy and sent the parts very quickly with super detailed instructions. Only took about two hours from start to finish and after coding with VCDS (Ciclo even gives you the new coding for the CE and RLS modules), everything worked perfectly and looks totally factory.

This mod really lends a quality air to the car and is how all top model 6R's should have come from the factory.

Once again Ciclo, many thanks.

You saw it was not so difficult to install, plus, I knew it would be very easy for you. Enjoy it you and your wife.
Perhaps people will think I pay you and to other people for you to do these excellent comments.

Thank You.
