Hi Alex

After some time away from this project - just wanted to update you all...!
After further inspection of the door hinge and exposing the connecting rubber shield - discovered the wiring loom ....the blue and white wire was there!
I followed it back through in to the car with some difficulty simply due to its location and finally viewed the same blue & white wire.
Managed to strip some of that lovely real sticky tape back and crimped the lock&unlock wire on to it.

Hey presto its working...
Many thanks for you advice, encouragement and most importantly technical knowledge.

Regards

Hey guys, resurrecting this topic..

Fitted an Rclick to my 6n2, works like a charm thanks to this guide, cheers man! 8)
However, the blinking indicators don't seem to work. Have turned on the indicator and checked with a voltmeter and it is deff the right wire but somehow no response coming from the brown wire(s). Any thoughts?
oh and yes, I've installed it at the vacuumpump and picked up the indicators at the taillights.

That normally works. Is there no output on the brown wires?

Can you hear the relay clicking?

Yeah, weird right? Have been using the system for half a year or so now and have had no trouble whatsoever. The lights were on my 'whenever you have a spare day with sunshine'-list and were hooked up this weekend. Will try to fit a voltmeter to the brown wires tomorrow and check for pulse on keypress.

Very odd. You'll hear the relays click as they are quite loud

Got it to work today! Traced it back to a dodgy contact hidden inside all the heatshrink in the brown wire (where they split into two wires). fiddled with these contacts and after seeing it work, wrapped it up again for insolation and all good now :) Cheers mate!

Does anyone know the difference between the 2 and 3 button remote when you are deleting what you want with the kit.?

Hi
I know this is an old topic, but i need a little help.
Has anyone got the rclick system to work on an 9N3. Looking around the forum i havent seen a definite answer.
I have followed the 9N wiring diagram supplied by rclick and it appears to be very easy. The unit clicks when button pressed but does not lock/unlock the doors. One observation is that if the door is open the rclick clicks several times, but if door is closed it clicks just once. I assume this is correct. The central locking is working at the key the drivers door switch and the button.

This is how i have connected the box in, please advise if I have done something wrong because as i said it did seem a bit too easy.

Rclick unit is just above the fuse box.
red wire to permanent live in the fuse box
Black, yellow and Yellow/Black go to one of the fuse box mounting bolts.
White/Black connected to 180ohm resistor with wire connector in series
Ends of White and White/Black connected together
Blue/white wire found coming from drivers door under dash.
Connected White and White/black to Blue/White.

Thanks in advance
Si

Hi

I have received this from RClick, it is slightly different to the 9n instructions.
VW Polo Mk V remote central locking unit instructions.

Remove boot release handle (unclip on side).
Remove screw and driver’s side kick panel, on right below steering wheel.
Locate wiring loom coming from door.
(Thin) blue wire = central locking control. (Green/yellow wire prior to May 2011).
Negative trigger. Pull this directly to ground to lock or via 180 Ohms to ground to unlock. Use 5 A cable lock connector.
(Thick) Red/yellow wire = +12 V permanent. Use 15 A cable lock connector.
(Thick) Brown wire = ground. Use 15 A cable lock connector.
So i have found the green/yellow wire and still it doesnt work.

Any ideas.

Thanks
Si

On a 2007 its the blue/white wire

Ive installed this on a 06 9N3 to this spec. The above instructions are wrong

What colour is your resistor bands? Patters inadvertly ended up with a 180k resistor, not a 180 ohm resistor, which is easily done

Also, check your earth. There should be a proper earth mounting point under there
