I purchased my new Polo last September and and love it apart from persistent Bluetooth problems.
I use a smartphone for navigation and music streaming (Spotify) and it's always hit and miss whether bluetooth audio will connect with the phone. Telephone connection usually works ok. I originally had an HTC One M8 phone which was supposed to work with the MirrorLink feature, (it didn't). I have now changed to an iPhone 6. The connectivity problems are there whichever phone is used so I must assume it is the Composition Media System in the car that is at fault. Today I made 4 trips in the car. On the first and third trips everything was hunky-dory, the other two, silent! It's made worse by the fact that the phone thinks it is connected so won't output audio through its internal speaker. The message on the screen typically says: "iPhone, unable to connect, OK" or "Bluetooth audio disconnected".
My questions are:
Do other users have the same problem?
Does updated software become available from time to time which may solve the problem?
Any help or advice appreciated.

Bluetooth problems
Hi - delete the Bluetooth profile from the car and delete the Bluetooth profile from your iPhone. Then on your iPhone go to settings -> general -> reset and click on Reset all settings and re-pair your phone up to your car. This should resolve the connectivity issues you're having, it appears to be a bit of an issue on the Golf 7's

Re: Bluetooth problems
I used to have this problem with my iphone on both my golf and now my BlueGT (problem went the minute I changed phone ironically). The music off my phone wouldn't always play despite being connected to the car. I found a way to fix it however:
1. once the phone has connected to the car, go into your iphone and play the music track on your phone. The music should then play through the car.
2. Once the music has started playing, close the music app on your phone and the music will stop.
3. wait about 5 seconds and the music should then play through the car (you may have to hit play on the touchscreen).
This worked for me everytime. It's clearly an issue with certain models of phones and the VW system. Even after my golf was updated it kept doing it.

Re: Bluetooth problems
I did as you suggested on Tuesday and everything's worked as it should for the past couple of days. Fingers crossed it will continue.jammydodger wrote:Hi - delete the Bluetooth profile from the car and delete the Bluetooth profile from your iPhone.
