Cigarette lighter socket

Cigarette lighter socket
I want to remove the cigarette or 12 volt lighter socket to accesses the wires what's the best way to do this? Thanks

Sorry to jump in - is there an easier 12v source somewhere. I'd like to permanently wire my camera instead of having it plugged in socket.

This is why I was asking I want to do the same. Ok. Just taken a quick look at the fuses and this will be dooable with an "add a circuit" from ebay. Finding an earth looks tricky though...........

You can earth to anywhere on the chassis providing its got a nut thats got exposed metal beneath
