My 2010 Polo

Post by AlexR »

Hello everyone!

Sorry if my english is not perfect. :)

I decided to open a topic about my black 2010 Polo 6R 1.2 70cv, Confortline version.
The photos are too big when I put them in here, so:

http://s568.photobucket.com/user/alexr1 ... e.jpg.html

Modifications so far:

- Changed RCD 210 for RNS 510;
- OEM rear curtains;
- Highline chrome line in front grill;
- OEM stainless steel pedals.

I really don't like to spend much money modifying the car. Priorities. :) Beside that, I'm afraid to be stuck with noises after some modifications that require disassemble some plastics.
Despite that, there are some mod's that I would like to do:

- Install a garage button;
- Front and rear footlights;
- Stainless steel footrest;
- Tailgate automatic opening.

The last one I need an opinion. Hope you can help me. :)
The pieces that hold my licence plate bulbs are cracked and one of them has one metalic part inside that's looks like it's almost broken and it's not gonna last. Because of that, the bulbs shake a little and don't fit properly. So I have to do something about it and I thought I could install the OEM led lights. The thing is: I have halogen headlights, with Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited in the main beam and Cool Blue in the parking lights. Do you think it's gonna look a bit off? The halogen in the front and rear and then the LED in the licence plates?

Finally, I want to congratulate all of you for this awesome forum :!:

Hey im new here i have a 2013 Polo 1.4 Comfortline. I was wondering where you got these items and if you could link them.
- Highline chrome line in front grill;
- OEM stainless steel pedals.

And if the RCD510 radio was just plug and play and also your opinion on buying this radio and this aux port.

Radio - http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Volkswagen-R ... 1143122702
Aux - http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-Car-Aud ... 2e&vxp=mtr

The chrome line in the front grill is not the original one. Since it was a little bit expensive, and the grilles that I've found online weren't equal to the original, I bought an adhesive moulding. It was supposed to be temporary, but I'm satisfied with the result.

The pedals I bought at Volkswagen.

The RNS has to be configured with Vag-com. It's a great radio. I'm very pleased with it. Noticed an improvement in the sound. The SD card is practical. It has an HDD built in. The navigation is good, and precise.
I would like to have also the AUX port to use with the Ipod, but not sure what needs to be disassemble to install that.

Another thing that I would like to have in my Polo is the chrome tail pipe, but for some reason, petrol models have a curve tail pipe that's not even visible in the bumper. Can't do nothing about it.

My petrol 1.4 2013 6R has the tailpipe showing just like this one.

And also btw i was told if you buy one of these you need to plug it into the back of your radio and run it behind the radio in in where the cupholders are located under the radio.

Also quick question i was thinking about buying this radio.

Do you think it would be ok ?. I was told it would just be plug and play.

Strange, here only the TSI and TDI have the tailpipe showing.

The RCD and RNS are plug & play, but you always have to codified something. For example, to work with the steering wheel radio buttons.

Any opinions regarding my question about OEM LED license plate lights?

Yes i guess its different all over the world. Im in Iceland and my 2013 polo 6r has a 1.4 L with the tailpipe showing. And ye i know about the steering wheel part i dont have any buttons in it so that i dont need to worry about although i think its very strange i dont have any buttons because i got the comfortline from 2013. I saw that the 2014 model of the same car has the buttons in it and has a RCD510 radio.
But yes im only thinking on changing the radio and put an aux input so that should be any problem.

Maybe only the petrol 1.2 has the curve tail pipe. I believe I never saw a 1.4 around here to be honest. :P

Probably on your case, the steering wheel buttons were a paid extra.

I have to decide what I'm gonna do regarding the problem of my licence plate lights. I posted the question on the beginning of the thread.
Can you guys give me your opinion? LED licence plates with halogen lights on the front. Yay or nay?

I'd think that because the licence plate light is at the other end of the car, you don't need to worry about how it looks with respect to any of the lights at the front.

you need a pair of gas struts of a Seat Toledo from 2000 (around that year) and a set of Scirocco puffers. The puffers need to be shortened a bit.

If you then hold the middle button of the remote for a few seconds, the boot pops open. And the tailgate opens all the way.

If you google a bit you'll find the part numbers for sure.

That would be the 1K8 827 761 C or 1K8 827 761 D (mostly the D is used in the Polo)

I already ordered the OEM led license plate lights. Will I need resistors? I don't get any bulb error on my plate lights but I was warned about the possibility of having problems with the lights being to weak for example.
What do you think guys?
