nice lady in a silver, neon yellow and blue decorated pug

Post by Tahrey1043 »

decided to follow me home on the last leg of the wee-small-hours commute this morning..... so i decided to take her the scenic spiral route and see how long the silliness could be prolonged :D

the discovery was - its amazing how long a police officer will hesitate to pull you over when there's nothing concrete for them to go on. managed to string her along for a good two or three miles going in an ever decreasing circle on main urban and residential streets - resolutely at or a little under the speed limit and signalling properly (which she wasn't and didn't!) - highly suspicious behaviour at 4am i know! - before *I* was the one who got bored of it, pulled up, killed the engine, got out and asked if there was a problem, as friendly-smile and politely as possible (unlike your average, world-weary plod). yknow kidding on like i thought she was going to pull me up and say there was something wrong with my lights, but after having gone that extra distance trying to give her somewhere safe to put on the flashing blues and pull me up, i was worried it was something more serious

wonder if i'm going to get a reputation down the local nick as a traffic cop baiter :D
(hey, if i get really good at it, p'raps they might start calling me a master..)

fair enough though, there's been some break-ins down the little shopping centre street she was parked up on, and i was acting "suspiciously" - coming to a halt randomly half way down and then restarting rather quick. in my defence, i'd dropped a tape and the safest thing seemed to be to stop while trying to find and rescue it :D :D :D ("i was doing a brake test, i think my fluid needs changing and it seemed like an empty, safe place to do it" seemed a more lawful excuse... "but nope, must have just been because i had four workmates in earlier on"). i couldnt really act like an arse about it.... was just her job, same as slogging the bar is mine, and we both have to stick to slightly detached procedure and rules with the "customers"

still if they really were concerned about security down there, hows they to know i'm not some kind of decoy? the length of time i was tailed for, some mates could have happily boshed a range rover through the front of the stereo specialists or the chemist and be a mile away with the swag by the time i'd actually pulled up.... and an untraceable distance, with the gear in holdalls and the 4x4 on fire by the time i'd finished the bulls**t and we'd parted ways.... after all the registration wouldn't have been difficult to spot and trace, and her efforts to see if the car was stolen amounted to "are you the registered owner of the car?" - and taking the answer at face value.... hmph.... i reckon she was more hoping i'd crack and go a little over the limit, or at least do 40 on the 30 road everyone -thinks- is a 40... hehe... denied!! that shopping street itself is fairly wide when its not full of parked cars, long, arrow-straight and at the bottom of a sweeping hill - major speeding temptation. I doubt she was actually there to provide extra security for the bloody Spar and it's inch-thick metal shutters..

Nicely done :) I'd love to know what they say about you back at the station.. probably got a picture of your car up on the walls by now and a caption saying "Just don't bother trying..." :D

Last time I got followed by the police was when I'd just done my dashboard mod, the lights on it weren't working and it was 11:30 at night.. every time I passed under a street lamp (not many of them around here..) I had to strain to see what speed I was doing and correct myself accordingly.. I was paranoid that he'd pull me over, must have been driving incredibly suspiciously..

I must admit my friend, I do enjoy your stories. I felt like I was there in the car with you, enjoying the moment, and the looking in the rear view mirror wondering what on earth she was up to?!?

I got done for speeding the other day! My own stupid fault, I wasn't concentrating and was doing 43 in a 30. Before I knew it, there's a copper perched in the middle of the road waving a clipboard at me with a rather nasty looking gin in his hand flashing a bold red 43 in my face.

I didn't know whether to be annoyed, or rather impressed with myself that my little 1.4 auto actually managed to break a speed limit! It had taken me a good 30 minutes to get there aswell! 8)

Before you say anything, I meant "holding a rather nasty looking gun".

i was talking to a friend in a car park in mansfield and a volvo pulled in and spun around and parked in the car park entrance watching people go by as he pulled up i noticed he had a number plate light out :?
so i walked over to his car tapped on the window and the officer wound down the window and looked at me strange i replied back saying not being funny but u have a number plate light out
he was not happy about me pointing this out and asked me if i enjoyed telling him his fault i laughed it off and went back to my car drove out making sure he noticed that i havent got any numberplate light due to being bumped by a house rep or somthing
