BlueGT -

Post by Robby71 »

Well it's almost Saturday - collection day for my new (15 plate - new to me) BlueGT so the spending has already started buying bits to "tart it up" :D

Image

Genuine VW Stainless pedals (Mk7 Golf)
Image

Genuine VW tailored F+R mats (to replace the rubber ones in the car)
Image

Engine cover (why aren't these fitted as standard?)
Image

I have numerous led bulbs for the interior, do these cause any problems? i'll be fitting my Philips headlight bulbs and silver indi bulbs as well but not sure what bulbs to fit for the DRLs and idea for leds?
I was wanting to fit the short mudflaps but haven't seen any posts where anyone has made them fit a GT (sideskirt issues) - i'm guessing the rears fit ok though?
I'm planning on buying the chrome window and mirror switches from a Golf - are the Mk5, MK6, MK7 Golf switches all the same?

Cheers

Just one passing comment, the pedal cover with the side shield, is for the brake pedal - just noticed that the other day on my wife's Polo!

Edit:- I hope that cover fits the later engines - I know it will not fit the 1.2TSI.

Yes pedals are wrong way round in pic  - the side part is there if when you slide your foot from acc pedal you can feel the brake pedal which is higher, i think it's a feel thing so you know how far away it is?

I'd imagine that must be a bit of a nuisance if you employ heel and toe regularly.

It'll stop you moving your foot under the pedal by mistake though?

Not a problem I've ever encountered in over five decades of spirited driving. Must be the shape of my feet!

Well after a 9 hour day i finally got it home, managed 53mpg on the A1 which was impressive
Not had time to do anything apart from fit pedals (brake and clutch easy but had to remove acc pedal assembly - 3 bolts to fit the cover :( ), swapped rubber mats for fabric, cleaned behind rear lights and fitted silver indicator bulbs.
I tried LEDs in the rear of the interior but they didn't work (tried both ways) - which bulbs do work?
How do you remove the front interior light unit and what LED bulbs work there?

Hoping for nice weather tommorow to tinker some more and start the full detail :)

I have this set in my Blue GT 6R:
http://www.benzinfabrik.de/de/led-innen ... -6r-weiss/
And this is for the 6C:

Works perfect...

You can remove the front glass using a small and thin plastic tool.....
