I'm no expert when it comes to cars however am I right in saying that you're saying that because the handbrake is coming up so far? I have noticed that it needs a lot of 'pulling up' - a lot more than my Fiesta did. Also when the handbrake is pulled up you can see down into the void below.
The car was only delivered 10 days ago. Shouldn't the VW dealership have picked that up in their pre delivery checks? Assuming if I popped in a local VW dealers - car come from a dealership 150 miles away - that they would be able to sort this out for me?

Cheers for the heads up.
It's not uncommon that they overlook the handbrake adjustment.

Cheers for the kind words - I'm absolutely in love with my new motor and glad I made the switch from Ford. The inside is just different gravy and it really does have a touch of class about it. Mine is the 1.0-litre, three cylinder TSI which while small in capacity the turbocharger lifts power to 110PS and torque to 199Nm. For a 1.0 litre engine it's pretty nippy and has not at any point felt underpowered. Not as quick as your lovely GTI mind but I'm loving mine to bits!

I used to own a Seat Ibiza which had the 1.2TSI with 105bhp, it was a brilliant little engine and it had the 7-speed DSG. It really made the most of the power, felt much quicker than it should have been.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a brilliant little engine for long - it ate it's turbo after 11k miles! Seat changed under warranty though, manufacturing defects or something they said

My freshly detailed R-Line 1.2. Thanks to Deluxe Detailing of Aycliffe (near Darlington) who had the car for 3 days to decontaminate and machine polish, followed by application of SiRamik glasscoat products.
I traded a Club up! for the Polo R-Line a couple of weeks ago; talk about chalk and cheese !! The Polo has 4000 miles from first registration in April and feels really tight. Love the quality interior, quiet drive and ability to overtake without planning ahead. Had to sacrifice heated seats to find the colour I wanted, but I'll live with that.
