2016 Polo Blue GT Glovebox removal

Post by Norbreck21a »

Hi all, at the weekend (weather permitting), I am going to do Ciclo's glovebox light mod to the wife's Polo Blue GT. Now on her previous blue GT (a 2013), it was pretty straightforward to remove, but on her latest version the infotainment unit "brain" resides under a flap in the glovebox.

My question is, can this unit be left in place and the glovebox removed without disturbing it, or does this unit need to be removed first, and if so, will unplugging the "brain" have any affect on the car when I plug it in again ?

Many thanks

You can leave it in place if your just lowering it down as there is a little bit leeway in wiring.
