I think it's impossible to buy Polo 6C in good condition with your budget.
Polo 6R with 1.4 86hp engine or 1.6TDI should be good for you (cheaper and less emergency).

Leighton the 200nm torque makes the 1.0 TSI very responsive for a small engine and my SEL doesn't have the blue motion grill.
Fairly new engine though so you will have to save a bit more money.

Have a look at Polo SEL's, not quite as sporty as the R-Lines but some have really nice 17" wheels and extra kit on them. I got my 2010 SEL 1.6 TDI 90ps with 39000 miles on it for £5700! Still worth close to that a year later thanks to strong residual values.
