Hi,
Got a 5’ composition colour screen in my polo and I want to check if it is even possible to fit a 6.5’ composition media (preferably with Apple car play). Went to a specialist which explained to me that the “brains” of the composition media is found in the glove box as oppose to behind the screen in the composition color, so he can’t fit the bigger screen because of a lack of wiring harness found in my car.
My plan was to go to a breakers yard in London, where I’ll be there in about two weeks and take it out of a car and find someone who will install it on my car. Will that be possible?

It won't be plug and play. The brains are married to the rest of the car via an process called component protection. And the functions of the brain are also limited. You could have a look whether you can buy a FEC (funtion enable code) to do a SWaP procedure (software as a product). This way, you could perhaps obtain these fucntions. But it won't be cheap or easy. Or you'll have to go into the world of MIB(2) hacking. Not sure that should be discussed here

I see, I thought it would be a simple process but as I now understand it would take a lot more effort than planned so I’ll stick with my current infotainment for now, thanks!
