Post by Rhys_13 »

Has anyone else had a problem with a Clunking noise when reversing, I have the new Polo R-line 1.0 95 had the same problem with the new seat Ibiza that I had last year also, possibly wheel bearing? Thanks in advance

Yup, it's to do with the brakes. I would link a topic but I don't know how [emoji23].

If you search for 'clunk' another topic should come up. Basically VW say it's fine.

Mine doesn’t clunk. Does that mean it’s faulty? :D

Quite often a noise like this can just be the pads moving rearwards in the caliper.

That's precisely what it is, as discussed in the threads linked to on this one.

Yes mine does this - when applying the brakes in reverse. When it was new it was really loud but now after 7000 miles it is almost gone - thankfully!
