GTI - options for easing firm ride + adding CarPlay

Hi,

Recently bought a December 2016 GTI. Enjoying the car performance but looking to improve general usability in a couple of areas:

1. FIRM RIDE
Having had 3 Polo BlueGTs, I'm finding the GTI noticeably firmer, to the extent I'd like to understand if I can soften the ride a bit. Would anyone have any advice on how best to do this that won't break the bank? I'm based in Edinburgh so even some recommendations of local garages that may be able to advise would be helpful.

2. APPLE CARPLAY
It's funny how I see this as a must-have now. From another thread it seems like my car's head unit doesn't support CarPlay so I'm wondering what options I have are to get this. The key thing I'm really missing is the navigation from my phone.

3. GEAR STICK
It's really low! I'm short so my seat is pumped up pretty high. The gearstick is lower and more forward than any other car I've had, and the stretching for it is a little uncomfortable. Is getting a taller gearstick an option?
