I already found one one problem. The White CNL wire was put in a wrong location. Now it sorted.
MFSW has all functions come back, emulator working.
0/1 button do not know what is the function but it operates the horn. Horn also works the original way too.
RES button increases the speed by 1
SET works as it should
-/+ works as it should
CNL works as it should

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
0/I is to enable or disable CCS. ... OFF/ON, Alex please is the most popular symbol and button for all devices around the world, there are no new mysteries added to this button...
The CCE exactly copies the operation of the CCS in the stalk, transforming the electronic signals of the new CCS buttons on the steering wheel into electrical signals that your BCM and ECU can understand (identical signals to those that were sent from the CCS stalk).
If your CCE is identical to the one I have installed on my 6R (please ask Slavik) and you have installed the CCE wires correctly, there must be something in your original electrical installation or added parts that is causing it.
I should know exactly the part numbers of your:
- MFSW.
- Airbag.
- Airbag wiring.
I'm going to review the original diagrams for your T5 in case I find anything suspicious that is causing the horn to sound when you press 0/I ...

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
I did not know the obvious then
Older vehicles with the CCs on the talk do not have that symbol nether the lorries I driving. I mean the symbol there without the 0/1. At least I learned something new agin
Regarding the parts Cannot tell the part numbers but steering wheel is come off a MK7 Golf so paddles are white
The airbag loom and the buttons I bought brand new and they for a T6 transporter. I will check tomorrow If they have the part number somewhere.
For the horn I keep thinking on that post on the T6 forum I linked in earlier. I believe all the T5 and T6 without the CCS on the steering wheel operates the horn via T42 pin 11
According the author of that post if the CCS buttons installed on the steering wheel the horn must be operated via LinBus and pin 11 need to be removed.
I could not figure out how can I tell the BCM that the horn must be operated via LinBus.
They using pin 36 on BCM but If pin 36 can operate horn I am sure pin 17 should be able to do the same.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
My 6R works with the LIN 17 and everything works fine. "OEMMMMM"

So we must find a way for your T5 to have the same electrical configuration, in terms of compatible wires and parts. It is the correct way.
Please take a picture of your current airbag as close to this:
The solution offered in the T6 forum through the LIN 36 will be for parts added and that are not compatible for the PQ25 (airbag, airbag wiring, etc),
'maybe' coming from other platforms "or specific T6 models" where messages are needed through a LIN for the horn work.
The horn on the PQ25 does not need any LIN to work, the airbag needs to have two ground points.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade
Removing and isolating T73a/29 everything should work properly if the electrical installation is correct and the added parts are compatible with the PQ25.
Please check again, with the current status of your T5.

You absolutely awesome Fernando
Everything works as it should. You are really the Master of Universe
This thread successfully solved. I do not know what I would have done without you. Really appreciate your involvement.
Would you share with us where this knowledge coming from?
I wish Seat and Audi forums would have a Ciclo too

Thank you very much for your kind/warm words, but this adventure is thanks to you, we are all in your debt.
Alex, please, allow me a suggestion:
You must verify that the T41 connector is securely attached to the stalks structure with the connector locking mechanism.
- You must be 100% sure.
- It shouldn't move at all.
- This would be my number one priority.
If this is correct, it is perfect!
Please use your thread freely to connect with us at any time if you need to.
Thanks Alex.

Re: VW T5.1 Caravelle BCM Upgrade and Cruise Control on Steering Wheel...SOLVED
Hello Guys,
I wish you all a Happy New Year!
Sorry but I had to bump up this thread. I need to ask a question. My lovely Caravelle had to go and I am now planning to buy an old 2006-2007 T5. The plan is to do it up to the latest possible spec.
I know the earlier models completely different with the electric installation, but I got to try.
Would it be possible to update an early T5 to a latest possible BCM? May I expect some help If I starting the process?

Hi,
I thought about installing a BCM PQ25 (6R, T5.1, T6) on our exPolo 9N3 'PQ24'... but I don't know what the hell I was thinking...
I wish you a very happy year 2024 for you and your loved ones!

I am sad to hear this. I wish you would push yourself over the limit Now I left with the expensive option B
