This is the new multifunction steering wheel for tests ...
Image
Capacitive buttons:
1EA 959 442A ... Assistants, (configurable = ACC, Heated SW, Voice control).
1EA 959 442B ... Travel Assist, (configurable = ACC, Heated SW, Voice control).

I will test all the possible options, with haptic or normal buttons, with wife's Golf and with the 6R.

At the moment only receiving parts and making the necessary preparations for my 2021/22 winter project.
I suppose that in January, after the holidays, I will increase the pace of work on the installations.

On page 37 I did tests with this multicolor ambient LED light, the LED is powerful, I think it is more than enough for such a SMALL compartment!
(I guess the VW designer would be a hobbit...🤭 ... although it is also possible that he was an oompa loompa).

J1158 Control unit for steering wheel contact detection.

Image

Image

Image

This Rline steering wheel from the Golf 8 (according to Ali) and that I will install in my wife's golf, did not come with this J1158 unit, however this Rline steering wheel is built for contact recognition/detection (wires, etc). The J1158 control unit come from the steering wheel from the Passat 8.5 which I will install on the 6R.😅

---
Edit ... Jan 4, 2o22.

Logbook.
I successfully completed the steering wheel installation on the 6R, now I will begin my winter 2021/22 project installations on my wife's Golf.
In the country where I live, the winter season starts around December 22nd and ends on March 21st.

It is the same reference 2GM880201G, but it is not the same airbag. viewtopic.php?p=588049#p588049
Well, it's because it's my favorite VW logo. (🐕🐕 ...some Gods are closer to us than we think 😄)

With new VW logo = 2GM880201L, will fit Passat 8.5 MFSW just the same.

... I'm also going to change the USB rear charging sockets to type C.

I only have a couple of parts left to receive so I can start with the installations. 😊

Getting all the parts for my winter project 2021/22 hasn't been an easy process when it comes to recieve products purchased during this period ... the pandemic (click on image 😁) hasn't helped either in this regard.

This is the last entry/input/post on this page (15 per pg), which I will dedicate to giving a few explanations about what I have posted on it, and at the same time revealing what will be my spring project 2022.

Travel Assist and the control unit for steering wheel contact detection require a new camera for driving assistants, my current camera is 3Q0 and the one needed is 2Q0.

2Q0 camera. Info.

They are of a very decent quality, the design seems perfect, but it will be necessary to check how they fit depending on the car model where they will be installed.

Perhaps, this small displacement caused by the camera leg does not influence the calibration or vision of the camera...
Image
My sincere thanks to the AIDU Aliexpress store for showing me very accurate pictures during the purchase of the adapters.
I insist that the adapters have a great design. 100% recommended. 👌

However, I'll do whatever it takes to make them fit "perfectly".😶

As a reminder, some images from the installation of the 3Q0 camera on my wife's Golf.

Diagram for camera 3Q0 (Golf 7-7.5) with interesting notes.
Image

I already modified the wiring received from Ali before installing this wiring on our Golf 7.5 when I installed the 3Q0 camera.
Image
This wiring was intended for 5Q0 cameras, although there were no problems if it was installed for 3Q0 cameras, it was the only model sold on Ali.

For 2Q0 cameras it must be modified, otherwise a fault for the heater will be hung in the diagnosis.

Here  viewtopic.php?p=581365#p581365 I posted my first impressions on the performance of the pACC in my wife's Golf "MANUAL" gearbox, which will be very useful for comparison once the 2Q0 camera is correctly installed. I have favorite routes where I will make very accurate comparisons between the 3Q0 and the new 2Q0 since almost all road and traffic conditions are possible.

As soon as I have full availability of my wife's Golf, I will start with the installations of the winter project 🥶🌡, and then continue with the exciting spring project.😍
