Key fob 2016

Post by TrebleTA »

So the other day my partiner got home locked car was in just for a bit 5 min, went back to the car and the car did not open. Looked at the fob no light, thought that's strange. Gave her the spare key , she jumped in got where she had to all ok, got out locked car etc went back opened the car, as she started she now got a warning change key fob battery, so thought why did I not get that on the other key. So got new batteries all seemed ok.

Now shes using the old spare key, looks newer and cleaner.

But now when we press to open the car it flashes + indicates flash but doors dont open on a 2nd press it opens. Anyone have any ideas?

Forgot to say it's a 2016 polo GTI, key fob has open, close and boot open on it.

Anyone with any clues, it's like I press open yet nothing opens yet all flashes, then I can press again nothing opens same all flashes 3ed time doors open. If on first press I hold open, the window will open still, yet doors locked. I'm think its something up with the coding, the cars under VW warranty, would that side be covered??

If you still have warranty, I would check in with the dealer.
You say by holding the open button, the windows open.
So the keyfob is correctly coded to the car, or else they would not open.
Your indicators flash aswell so the same, correctly coded.

Is there someone in your neighbourhood who has a VCDS scantool?
He/she could read out any fault codes in the central electrics (09)

My own fault, went in the car checked the incar setting's and see it's on single door opening mode, I did not know each key had it's own coding. Thanks tho.
