Help needed for Cluster swap on a Polo 6C

Post by POLOZ »

So recently bought a JDM 6C polo and looks like somebody has slapped a MPH on a KMPH speedometer :(

Can I fit a second hand cluster?

Anybody in North West of England able to do it for me?

You can probably fit a second hand cluster but it is not a plug and play swap. You will have to have it adapted by a professional.

I have done this swap.
Take a look at this link

Of course you need a garage with online connection to apply the new (used Cluster) to the VW's servers and to remove the CP

Well went to a guy who said he will fix the cluster and didn't even have the knowledge on how to fix it :|

Anyways am definitely going with a replacement cluster as nobody here has the knowledge on eeprom to change the scale from kmph to mph

will I need a odis? Or can it be done using autel?

also which cluster should i go with? 6C0920940G?

I think the only safe option is online odis.

Well finally sorted out the cluster :) Ended up getting 6C0920940A and a very kind gentlemen came and sorted out the coding. Correct speed output is now shown :D

No errors or faults in VCDS

Now I have a spare Speedometer and would love to play with EEPROM

Can anybody tell me by looking at the pic below where the main eeprom chip is located?

There is a 16 pin chip on top right corner with code 25Q064A so I feel thats where the eeprom chip

I'm guessing top left with 8 pins.
