Crank Position Sensor

Post by Huw_Knight »

Please help!! I am at the end of my tether and bank account.

1.2 TDI 2013

In December, I had the engine management light come on. After reading it, I had the fault code: P032200

I was advised to change the crankshaft sensor. Which was changed for an after market one. This didn't solve the issue. So it was replaced with a Bosch one. This didn't work, so I then replaced it with a genuine VW one along with the a genuine VW pick up ring.

I've still got the same fault and I've been advised to check the ECU. For some reason, then ECU cannot be cloned to a donor one as it can't be read and apparent I can't get a donor ECU programmed to the car.

Has anyone else got an ideas before the car has to be scrapped.

Check wirings between sensor and ECU, especially near the gearbox.

We checked the wiring and as soon as the ignition was turned on, the return wire from the sensor didn't increase voltage, but without the ignition on, there was still 1v of current going through the return wire.
