Headliner replacement

Post by Le_Combattant »

Hey fox,

I few days I will replace my headliner because of damage and leak near the antenna.
I will do it my self, so I just ordered the part to my local dealer: 730euros.

It's expensive, but far cheaper If it was made by my local dealer.

The task is pretty simple, by the past I've already removed A, B pillars, interior light etc...Very easy.

My only concern is about the trim that surround the sunroof:

This trim is between the sunroof fram and the headliner, maintained by clips.
Accordind to offical VW workshop manual, you just have to carrefully unclip it.

It try it, but it seems very hard.

Any tips ?

By "Leave out the careful part" you mean, no need to be gentle, just pull ?

I've done quite a lot of headliner replacements but also fitment of DAB and GPS antennas, for that the headlines must also be lowered.
