Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
I’m about to do a major service on my car and see that it is recommended to replace the fuel filter. However, I cannot find it on CarProg2 ETKA. I am looking under main group 1 and can only see an option for the 1.4L diesel engine. My car is a 1.2L petrol engine. I’ve had a look in the other main groups but I still can’t find it. Does anyone know why I can’t see it?
Also, do I have to bleed the fuel line, because air will get in it when the filter is changed? I rather not, if I can avoid it. I read somewhere that only diesel engines require bleeding. To me it sounds like having air enter through the injectors would be bad when the engine is running.

Re: Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
Got it! I didn’t know that website existed. It’s another tool to add for my part-finding uses. I’ve also found it in CarProg2 ETKA from the link.
How necessary is changing the fuel filter? It will cost me $95AUD which is quite a bit of money for a filter, but also I’m willing to do it if it is important. I’m not sure if it has been changed in the past as I don’t have the service logs from VW (a different owner had it). The car has done 104,000km (I’m doing the major service a bit early rather than 120,000km - I had to change other parts which were part of the major service, so I thought that I’d move it forward to keep things consistent - doing things early can’t be bad anyway).

How much!??!
I know my replacement filter was not cheap compared to what I was used to on my previous car, but it wasn't that expensive.
Bought a Mann+Hummel "WK 69" for +- 30AUD here.
Note the WK 69/2 is the 4-bar version. The WK 69 is the 6.6-bar which you need for the 1.2TSI.
I see them on Amazon Australia for 50AUD:

Re: Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
I'd think that the first thing to do is to check that a petrol filter has been fitted to your Polo, from memory, it should be on the RHS near the point where the rear wheel is.
VW Group started leaving out these petrol filters at some point in production of this version of Polo, well at least in European markets, so sales areas where the petrol is not known to be well "prepared for sale", may well have retained this petrol filter.
Edit:- my 2011 Audi S4 3.0TFSI 330PS does not have a petrol filter, my wife's 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS does still have a petrol filter, my older daughter's 2019 SEAT Leon Cupra 290PS does not have a petrol filter and my younger daughter's 2019 SEAT Arona 1.0TSI 115PS does not have a petrol filter.

I’ll have a look tomorrow to see if it is fitted with one. I would hope it is!
Yep, $100AUD… but then again that’s an original VW part. Aftermarket ones seem to exist for around $50AUD like you said.

Re: Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
I am trying to get better at using PR codes. As 2226 mentioned, there are two versions of the fuel filters, being the 4 bar and 6.6 bar version, with part numbers 6Q0201051J (PR: IA3) and 1K0201051K (PR: IA2) respectively. I found this information from CarProg2 ETKA with the restriction of 6R-G-000 001 for my 2016 VW Polo 6C. My vehicle sticker is:
I cannot see the corresponding PR code on the vehicle sticker so how does one know that the 6.6 bar version is required?- Maarten

Did you look up the part that is installed on your car?
There should be a partnr on it.

I haven’t had a look under the car yet, but was wondering how 2226 knew that the 6.6 bar version was needed for my car. I’m also wondering how to use the PR code that is from ETKA. I’m going to have a look at the filter that is currently installed tomorrow.

Re: Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
As far as I know, 6.6bar for the TSI.
I am running the 6.6bar on my CJZD 1.2TSI.
WK 69 - 6.6 bar:
https://catalog.mann-filter.com/EU/eng/ ... er/WK%2069
W 69/2 - 4.0 bar:
https://catalog.mann-filter.com/EU/eng/ ... /WK%2069~2
Look at the application tab and you will see that the 69/2 is for non-turbo applications, 69 is for turbo.

Re: Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
I see what you mean. Like you said, the Mann website does support the 6.6 bar filter for the 1.2TSI, which I have.

Is there any difference between 04E115561T and 04E115561H? CarProg 2 ETKA says that one can be used in place of the other and vice versa. I’m wondering what the difference between the two versions of the oil filter is.
Interestingly, ETKA says the 04E115561H version was dropped on 01/09/2022 for 04E115561AC. However, the 04E115561T version does not show up as being dropped.

All the same thing.
Use Mann+Hummel W 712/95
https://catalog.mann-filter.com/EU/eng/ ... 2023121954
As you can see that single filter cross references to all of those VW part numbers.
The number most likely changed because different manufacturer was used. Being VW they most likely found someone to make it cheaper.

Re: Fuel filter for 2016 Polo + bleeding fuel line
I see. I originally thought that a change in part number suffix meant that VW had redesigned the part to some degree for whatever reason, and that getting the newer part might be beneficial. It now makes sense that a change in manufacturer would be the reason for the change in part number suffix.

Who knows what VW get up to.
I just recall the number can change for various reasons and one of those could be supplier change.
I'll stick to the Mann+Hummel.
