VW 2005 polo immobiliser light flashing

Hi I have a 2005 VW polo starts then immediately shuts down after a few seconds, immobiliser light is flashing on dashboard, have tried keeping key in ignition for up to 30 mins, connecting positive & negative terminals together, tried charging battery.

No fault codes seen on diagnostics reader.

Anyone else come across a similar issue?

Have you tried sparekey?
Flashing immobiliser light means no correct handshake.
No correct handshake, no running engine.
Engine dies within a second

I have tried both keys still getting same problem yes engine starts then dies.

Try holding one key closer to the keyhole, whilst starting with the other.
Maybe the coil doesn't pick up the immo transponder data
