How to remove line from throttle body

Post by Polobear6r »

Im trying to remove my intake because i beleve it has an coolant leak.

But i cant seem to remove the right side line. I think it is connected to the throttle body(not sure what its called)
Just like in this video at this moment.

There seems te be 2 clips on the sides but do i need to press them in?
Pull them upwards?
Im not sure. Offcourse i dont have any special VW tools so im working with screwdrivers and what not.

Push the fitting slightly in towards the throttle (relieves some tension on the fitting) and then try and depress those tabs on the side.
I think it should be similar to the fuel filter fitting; just much more inaccessible.

Pliers like this will help:

But without them you will have to mess about and try and get both pressed in. Maybe use a pick or small screwdriver and press one side at a time and try and wiggle it out.

If you do have some straight circlip pliers you can try and bend the tips in to look like the middle on in that picture.

Yes i got it. Now i finaly could remove the intake because i expected an coolwater leak.
But i saw now coolign sludge but only oil.

Does it suppose to have oil in the intake?

im not sure but i have a few other questions now. Ill open a new topic.

Yes, it will have plenty of oil. That's from the PCV system.
See the thread on E211 catch can.
