Disabling the Alarm for ferry crossing

I’ve read elsewhere that you can temporarily disable the OEM car alarm (2023/24 Gti) to prevent it being triggered during extended ferry journeys so it doesn’t flatten the battery by pressing the lock button on the fob a second time. Can anyone confirm that this is true ??

Should be under ‘Safelock’ in the owner’s manual.
