EPC Light

Post by cjbmc55 »

So my EPC light came on about a week into owning the car (55 plate 1.2 9n3 on approx 86k) The car still runs and drives great. it has a small hole around the flexi (MOT advisory) so i’m unsure if the light is due to the front or maybe even rear lambda sensor. i’ve tried 2 different OBDII scanners without any code showing which has made me really wonder. my EML hasn’t came on.

Wondering if anyone has had similar issues and can help. I can give any extra info if needed

Thanks

Do your brakelights work?
Do you have cruise control? If yes does it still work?

I haven’t but i’ll get that done

If memory serves me right my rear registration plate light fuse went and i replaced it then my EPC came on shortly after

Could be coincidental

Thanks a lot for the help, i ended up fixing it. the person i got to check the brake lights last week said they were working it turns out it was the running lights they seen (ridiculous i know they are never being trusted again haha) i got someone else to press the brake today while i looked and they weren’t working. a quick trip to euro car parts in my mothers car, 13.49 and a 5 min job later it was fixed and the light is off.

So it was definitely the brake switch

Thanks again

Glad you found the issue, brakelight switch is a common problem on the 9N/9N3
