My sons Polo TDi is looking a bit crusty around the OSF jacking point. I was just wondering if any of the good members here have any experience of welding this up. I'd hate to start cutting it apart and find some huge hurdle to overcome.
I could do with an idea of what, if anything, is present behind the re-inforced corrugated section in the floor behind the sill joint. Is the corrugation the only re-inforcement or is there some internal structure behind it, possibly inside the sill.
And has anyone seen actual repair sections available anywhere? I've searched all over but can't find anything. It will be a challenging repair panel to make to say the least.
Any guidance much appreciated.
Cheers, Russ

Re: Jacking Point
I would suggest looking for an exploded diagram (possibly on the website of a supplier of replacement sills). Likely there is the inner and outer sill to consider, as well as the B-post which probably connects to the inner sill and corrugated floor. It might be that the tin worm has not got that far but if it has you'd have to open up, cut, and weld accordingly.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I guess I'll just have to get stuck into it. May be I'll post some inner photo's just in case they may help someone out one day.
