It makes me think that either the brake pad lifespan has decreased considerably compared to those used years ago, or that the driver assistance systems -combined with the automatic transmission- are over using the brakes.
I don't want to think badly, and that since it's a "NEW" vehicle with a few Kms on it at the time of purchase, someone decided to reduce them?... 😟

What do you mean by an indelible warning? Isn't it possible to clear the DTC 'as usual' once the brake pads have been replaced?😬
VW's insanity —and future decline— would be absolute if it required paying for an online connection to clear this DTC.

I guess since my good friends already have a Toyota (with all the wiring from the factory ) and the philosophy is to go for good quality, I'll have to buy a Toyota (neither American nor European cars, only Asian or UK cars ).

Apologies for very late reply. 🙏
I have been away for some good and some not so good reasons.
I got changed all 4 rotors and pads at dealership. Front pads were totally wornout and rear pads were nearing end. Rotors had some mm thickness left, but decided to change them also. The front brake pad warning went off only after replacing them with new one's.
I would like to share the pictures and also some updates but I am stuck. Need help!
For past several months, I no longer have access to imgur.com, image hosting site we all commonly use. After repeated failed attemps, I contacted their support team. I got a blunt reply saying, imgur service is no longer available in your geographical location.🙄
I have thousands of pictures uploaded in imgur, and I no longer have access to them😢
Kindly anyone suggest me a alternative image hosting sites, even if it's paid service, I don't mind. 🙂

Doctors don't need to apologize, their work is always commendable. 🤗
It's my wish, and we all hope everything goes well for you there.🙏
Thanks for the update.

It's a real shame and a big setback for you about Imgur. It's still working well for me, but I suppose, like you, and not being among the chosen ones, they will soon kick my ass...
Youtube has already caught my trick to avoid ads... and they block my videos in 'certain places' on our planet. Which matters to me NOTHING or less NOTHING, I do not monetize my 'educational' videos.😂

Now I don't know which hosting to recommend. Have you looked at Russia, etc...? I think Yandex has a file and image hosting that seems like a good place... I'm not sure.

Thank you for your kind words dear Master 🙏

I am considering few image hosting websites. Imgbb is one, but not as versatile as imgur. Russian sites is a interesting recommendation. Considering my geographical location and geopolitical situation, it's unlikely that Russians will ban me

Testing new image hosting site imgbb. :!:

The below image is just a random picture showing Teleporting issue I faced after installing MIB2.5 Discover media.I tried to feed gps data to DM via CAN ( this is only possible if address 75, telematics is present). More about it later and the solution to it.
The red arrow with circle should have been on thick yellow line, but it's wandering 🤭

Yes, it seems like the whole world (humanity) is suffering from bullying from the same old bully and capricious kids. 🤷‍♂️

New AGM battery replacement for factory fitted EFB.

Factory fitted Varta EFB 59Ah battery lasted for around 5years and eventually died some months ago.
Replacement I choose is New AGM 70Ah Varta aftermarket, slightly bigger than OE and that's the Max size my T-roc battery tray can hold.
Just pictures:

All been good so far and no issues faced.

My few observations:

1. New Battery serial number to be registered in GW can be any numbers/alphabets we like, DOB, Anniversary date.. anything, just it shouldn't be same as previous one. Even one digit/alphabet change in previous battery serial number is also ok. The moment battery serial number is changed in GW, the charge/discharge count of battery is reset. VW provides it's own battery serial number on sticker when oe battery is purchased.

2. Over a period of time I have observed that, my new AGM battery doesn't charge to full 100%. Max I have seen is around 80-85%, I wondered why. May be to extend the battery life? I am not sure.

3. My stock 59Ah EFB battery fleece protective cover won't fit new 70Ah battery. I just pulled the old cover around new battery and zip tied it. Edit: got new bigger battery fleece cover and new plastic top battery cover from AliExpress, but too lazy to replace. 😁

4. In ODIS-E, when selecting battery technology, for AGM battery there are 2 options. One is Fleece and other is AGM spiral. I was in confusion which one to select for new AGM battery? A little search on Rosstech forum, got me clear answer. Fleece is the correct selection for flat plate AGM battery and AGM spiral for AGM spiral gel plate batteries (AGM batteries in most PHEV.)

Illuminated Keyless door handles- all 4 doors.☺️

From factory, front 2 doors keyless entry without illumination.
Later I retrofitted rear 2 doors keyless entry door handles without illumination.
viewtopic.php?p=600633#p600633

Now I successfully completed all 4 door keyless entry with illumination. ✌️😎
Parts:
I purchased all 4 door handles with wiring kit for T-roc from AliExpress.
https://a.aliexpress.com/_c3wEi7ub

I received the handles painted in dark grey, got them repainted at VW dealer to my T-roc colour, ie Indium grey.
Handle part numbers:
Front right and rear right 55A837205B 2pc
Front left and rear left 55A837206B 2pc
These illuminated kessy handles are installed in T-roc/ Tayron/CC in Chinese models. The new MK2 2026 T-roc R-line also comes with same illuminated exterior door handles. The latest Tayron R-line launched here in my country also come fitted with these illuminated exterior door handles.
Picture taken from seat forum, credits to the author. I will post the reference links at the end of the this post.
Image
Handle caps RHD T-roc ( optional)
Left front and rear 5G0839167D 2pc
Rear right 5G0839168D 1pc
Front right 5G2837880D 1pc
Painting technician at dealership suggested me to provide stock handle caps also along with new handles for uniformity in paint colour. So I asked dealer to order 4 new caps and repaint them along with handles, to avoid unnecessary hassle.
8pin handle connector blue 4pcs -  3G0973708.

Image

Funny thing is, even though it's a 8 pin connector, slot 7 and 8 are dummy, with no holes for terminal.
There is another similar 8pin door handle connector black which VW uses for advanced kessy system handles ( Kessy+ light +NFC. PR 4K5, 4K6, UD1, UD2) to unlock car using phone key without need for physical key (eg; Golf8, Passat B9 etc.. additional optional equipment on subscription basis). So the 2 extra slots in 8 pins connector is for NFC wiring I guess.
https://youtube.com/shorts/BprFkirSq9Y? ... GvdSHJs5JW

Terminals:
4 pin connector for non kessy handles with light or kessy handles without light use 000979030E terminal, same terminal is also used in ECU I remember from ACC retrofit.
8 pin connector for handles with kessy and light use
000979053 E terminal.
Wiring connection for handle lights

There are 3( may be 4) ways to power handle lights. The working logic of handle lights is same as puddle lights under ORVM ( VW calls them with different names..Entry/ Field /Sorround lights)
1. T16/1 black connector of front door control modules. This pin feeds +12v to puddle lights if present. Door handle +12v can be connected to this pin and branch out to rear handle lights on that particular side, if rear doors don't have door control modules. Most Chinese sellers wiring scheme recommend to connect handle lights +12v to this pin.
2. T20/3 white connector of front door control modules. This pin exactly replicates function of  T16/1 pin of black connector ( tested).  This pin used in factory fitted door handles with lights in most VAG cars. Eg; Audi A4, T-roc/ Tayron/ Tiguan chinese versions. The new 2nd Gen T-roc launched in EU comes with door handles with light.
3. Unused BCM pin ( experimental) I think it is possible to connect door handle lights to any of one free BCM pin and code them in adaptations to work as puddle lights/ footwell lights. I thought of this idea, but I had doubts about achieving theatre dimming effect of these lights via BCM. Dimming effect is special feature of door control modules whether it is for door warning lights or exterior door handle lights. That being said, it is easy and simple to connect door handle lights to door control modules.
4. ? T32/3 blue connector( front door handle light + ) and T20/8 white connector( rear door handles +) PR 4K5 4K6/ UD1, UD2
If I understood the WD from Golf correctly, the advanced kessy handles with illumination use different connectors and pins for front as well as rear exterior door handles. WD posted below for anyone's interpretation.
Cars having rear door control modules- T20/1 +12v for rear handle lights

Repinnig: From kessy handles (2/4 doors) without light (4pin) to kessy handles with light( 8pin).
T4/1 to T8/1
T4/2 to T8/2
T4/3 to T8/3
T4/4 to T8/4
T8/5 GND
T8/6 +12v

GND connection for door handle lights:

For front door handles with kessy from factory has a GND wire in T4/2 kessy coupler in door. I connected door handle lights GND of both front doors to this wire. This type GND connection is readymade in AliExpress wiring kit. Also GND can be connected to window lifter nut in door metal frame using ring terminal. I used ring GND terminal for rear handle lights.
Note: There are 2 different type wiring kits available for handle lights with kessy on AliExpress.
1. https://a.aliexpress.com/_c3czj6Mf
2. https://a.aliexpress.com/_c3ovVMvp
The first one is provided with 6 pin blue connector with wires for handle lights prewired and additional terminals provided for kessy wires to be cut and recrimped.
The second one is complete kessy + handle lights wiring. It's simply plug and play with all wires including GND prewired. I will recommend this kit for upgrading kessy 2/4 door without light to with light.

I connected driver side to T16/1 and passenger side to T20/3 to check if there is any difference in behaviour of door handle lights. There is no difference, they work exactly the same way.

Rear right door connection, similarly done in rear left door.

At the same time, I took the opportunity to rewire so that the rear door exit lights are managed by BCM.👌

Rear door warning lights: control via BCM
Previously, I had connected rear door wiring lights with +30 from battery via fuse and GND connected to door lock open/close GND microswitch.
I felt connecting rear door warning lights GND to door lock microswitch is risky and might run into trouble of blowing door lock microswitch.
The previous wiring installation is totally undone.
viewtopic.php?p=600736#p600736
I used 2 free BCM AMBL pins( eg; T73a/36 &37, C-connector), one for rear right and one for rear left door warning light+12v signal. GND to window lifter frame nut using ring terminal in rear doors metal frame.

This is how I wired the rear door lights.
Example in my case.
Rear left door warning light:
BCM T73a/37 → T17/9( TUIL blue coupler free slot) → T19/19 (TTHL, free slot rear left door coupler) →T2/2 warning lamp connector.
Rear right door warning light:
BCM T73a/36 → T17/8( TUIL blue coupler free slot) → T19/19 (TTHR, free slot rear right door coupler) →T2/2 warning lamp connector.

Image

Image

These pins must be coded to work as rear door exit lights in BCM adaptations.
Security access09: 31347

Image

Rear right:

Image

They work as they should after coding. But 2 differences are noticeable compared to front door exit lamps which are controlled by door control modules.
No theatre dimming effect like front exit  lights. They simply go off immediately after door is closed. May be it is possible to enable this feature in BCM adaptations, I've tried without luck so far.
No bulb out error dtc :  Unlike front door exit lamps, there is no dtc registered in BCM if bulb is blown or wiring disconnected.  There are 2 adaptations within each Leuchete channel which determines the bulb protection and dtc registry. Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC  and Lampendefektbitposition.  I tried playing around the byte values of these 2 adaptations, but with no luck so far. Looks like it's a grey area need to be explored more. I am posting a screenshot from DV52's light control observation document below

Latest autoscan: I've decided to no longer conceal my vin for the larger benefit of retrofit community. :)

I am very satisfied with the illuminated door handles. They look classy and premium😍
It was a laborious and time consuming retrofit. It took 4 sessions over 2 weekends for me to complete the work. But I feel it was worth the sweat.😁

Good job, Doctor.

I love those lights.

Anything that's fun is always worthwhile, it improves your skills and understanding, and having something that others don't have due to neglect or lack of ambition is a bonus. 😁

I'm waiting for good weather so that while I enjoy nature (birds, ants, etc.), I can install the same setup in our Golf that I had planned a while back (before or after my supposed heart attack -pandemic times-, I don't remember well... 😄).
...those damn usurious private health companies/doctors around here.

A new milestone! My T-roc crossed 100000 km mark.😎

Image

It is a pleasure to own and drive T-roc. ❤️👌
T-roc being my daily drive, has brought me more happy driving experience. She has never let me down a single day since ownership.✌️
Looking at the way the new VW cars prices are heading crazily south, my T-roc feels most value for money driving experience. I have no intentions to part ways with my T-roc or 6R even though, now and then, I get a itch of upgrading.😁
So, what next for my T-roc? Well I have plans charted out. DCC, Highline RVC, multicolour ambient lights( footwell lights already done, will post details soon). New tyres with new alloys and bigger front brakes 312mm are also under consideration.
Squeezing free time out my busy schedules is becoming a nightmare for me.🙈
Nonetheless, slowly but surely I will do everything I have planned for my T-roc.👍
Thank you dear friends for all the help and support.🤝🙏

The new 312mm brake discs would be a perfect match for wheels of at least 18 inches. It's not just about aesthetics, but also about performance. The braking will be very satisfying, ... exceptionally satisfying. 😉

Exactly! that's what I am planning 😁👍
I am trying to source 18" Sebring T-roc alloys. I have ordered 312mm+ 272mm blue brake it from E-bay Germany, the one you've already installed in your Golf.👌

Those brakes are great! 8) A very good choice for your T-Roc, you'll be surprised and pleased.

Use the one-way valve method (single person) for brake bleeding. Perform the initial bleeding with 6 to 12 full brake pedal strokes for each wheel. 12 strokes are best if you're replacing the brake fluid (recommended).

Take the T-Roc for a drive and activate the ABS/ESP system at least once while driving.

After a few days for the brake pads to bed in to the brake discs, you should clearly feel very powerful braking with just a light touch of the brake pedal, this feeling is noticeably different from the original brake setup, if not, repeat the bleeding process with the one-way valve.👌

Thank you for tips dear master. I will follow your instructions during installation.👍

I have received the blue brake kit from Germany.😎  It will take some time for me install. I am yet to buy front 312 discs, most likely I will go with OEM discs only because they are good easy to source.

Only thing I didn't expect was missing wear sensor in front pads. VW do sell wear sensor for brake pads seperately. Part no 8V0615437, I will try to source one.
