g40 or mk2 gti 1.8 8v?

currently running a 1.4 8v mk 4 polo.

contemplating an engine conversion.

I can get a mk2 golf gti 1.8 8v engine for nowt from a mate of mine thinking about a g40 though.

Apart from the 'charger in the g40 what engine would you recommend?

any ideas?

I don't think the 1.8 GTI engine would fit because of the bonnet line. G40 would go in. they do on the MK4's. Just remember you have to get the supercharger re-built regularly
