interesting reg plate...

Post by mikegti »

I saw a Saab convertible on the M6 today, the reg was

Y 80TOX

(with careful placing of fixing screw)

unfortunately I didnt get close enough to see the driver to see if the question was relevant!!

anyone else seen any unusual plates lately?

today i passed 4XES..

axes, or "four"xes?

and cleverly a couple days back, someone had
JON 112 P (or some other blokes' name that's three letters)

the middle 1 being slanted so you could look at it either way, either 112 or 1/2

no points for guessing the feller's name i'm thinking, he must have felt like einstein when he thought that one up

(inexplicably the same day, a 4x4 again with two 1's in it, but the second one was only about 1/3 to 1/2 the normal height, both front and back. i couldnt see what it was supposed to say thuogh... didnt make any sense like.

called a local 'bathrooms and kitchens' guy out recently to do some work, and the number plate on his van was either T1L3R or T1LER

Daihatsu FourTrack round these parts that I see at the lights every now and again, plate is J1LLY. Theres quite a few cars around with a number and 2 or 3 letters on too, but no particular examples spring to mind except for a local electrician's, all of whose staff seem to have the plate [number] ARH. ARH being the name of the company of course :)

I might be regarded as a bit sad here but.......

Polo (technically her car) is currently wearing R16GSL - her plate - bit of slightly dodgy spacing and it reads RIGGS L which is her name

The 3.0 24V CDi Senator I'm rebuilding will wear A3 OCD - what it is - A 3.0 CD

I gave up trying to get a plate for me initials I A M cos

- 1 AM is owned by Aston Martin and is a tad on the pricy side

- 1 M is owned by Lotus and on a big merc - CEO drives that

- 1AN is on ebay for £20 K but you have to keep it on the car and it's not transferable - the cars a 1960's moggy Minor - no ta!!!

- M4 RSH I never even bid for - my surnames Marsh - went to auction at DVLC at went for megga money

- M14 RSH also went same year but it didn't look anything like right even with the 1 slammed against the M so I passed on that too

- MAR 5H I was offered years ago but was skint

- I can't change the plate on the lotus cos no-one would recognise it as the car featured on top gear or in the history of Lotus Cars Volume 1, 2 or 3

I like car related plates anyway

- A30 GSE would be nice for the 3.0 Monza GSE

- A30 CDX would be nice for the Carlton 3.0 CDX estate

One day

Whats the difference between a Monza and a Manta? Is one based on a cav and the other based on a carlton or something? I only wonder because someone near me used to have an opel manta and I dont think I had heard of the monza till you came on here. Quick seach on autotrader has shown that they look similar - apart from the rear end where it looks like the manta is a 3 door and the monza is a 2 door.

Y'go 2 slo... thats awesome, wish id been there when he thought it up - another eureka moment.

("next" motor will DEFFO have to be a T-reg or later so i can pester the DVLA as to why no 411 plates seem to be publicly available)

Volvo that used to park at a church by me was a 240E ... plate... E 46 MPH   never really "got it" properly for a good few years. It cant have been an accident because the MPH ones ALWAYS get used as private numbers!

That limo effort far outstrips the one taking some of my mates down broad street the other night - L 11 YMO. Dunno bout you but i wouldnt have bothered!

Iany ian - you dont know any 'Lucie's do you?
