Personally i think about 40-50mm is spot on with the standard BBS RXII's in 15".With that height the wheel arch tends to follow the top of the wheel around and looks really tidy much like modern vag cars. All depends on personal preference at the end of the day i know alot of people hate arch gap but then again i think a subtle drop looks alot better than a slammed car plus it needs abit of movement.

Here's a picture of mine on the standard 15" wheels with about 45mm drop, hope it's of some help.

Mine about 80mm.

Like bradley said its all down to personal preference mate. Try different heights till you find the perfect mix of looks and driveability (<--think thats a word  ) for you.

Thanks for all the help guys. Really appreciate it.

Havent had time to play any more but will try to get it perfect soon. Here are some pictures of it today. Really sorry for the dirt. The weather and roads are so S**T high its not worth cleaning it. Cant wait for some nice weather and give it a real good going over. The handling is immense! Almost like a go kart. No body roll what so ever :D

On ramp in the air! So little SAG!!!

Again apologies for the state of the car and the peeling of my RXII's (need reconditioning and new caps) but you get what i mean the front is too high and the back a bit low. Needs evening out a bit. Still all settling in though. I do quite like the height at the back but maybe thinking of taking off the rear mud guards.

Thanks all again for your help :D

Will also try and get some better pics soon. I also forgot to mention i have added some red grill piping. I know the car is red but have not seen anyone else do this before to a red one. Its does not stand out a nice as the other coloured GTI's but gives a nice subtle edge to the front i think. I saw a mk5 red golf GTI still had the trim so tried it out. Will get some pics up and see what you all think. I personally like it but it is not that noticeable.

Nice update Matt 8)

Like you say it just needs a little tweaking now to get you the right ride height & stance.
Looking good though, dont feel bad about the car being dirty :) mine is horrendous at the minute.

Keeping your car clean at this time of the year is near impossible

Looking good buddy, coilover fitting is a special feeling haha.....

Should be spot on like mine....

Thanks guys,

Still havent had a chance to tweek it again :(

I have thought about wheel spacers but not sure whether it would look right with the RX's :? Maybe get some but something like 20mm on the back and 10mm on the front? Not sure?

Im running 15mm's on the rear and 5's up front. The picture above is without them on, and the rear wheels look a bit lost in the arch. The spacer just brings it out a bit more flush with the arch.

Im also running 15mm on the rear, gives it a much better look. With that size it makes the rear wheels look like they're supposed to be there rather than looking like you've just put some crazy big spacers on them.

I'm going to have to invest in some spacers this year because both your GTI's look awesome from the back

Agree with Ben, They do look good :) Thanks for putting those pics up Godderz :D

Think i will have to invest in some of them for sure. Looks like you would expect it to from standard. Much better. I guess the 5mm ones are just the spacer and can use the original bots but are the rears the ones that bolt onto the hub and then you bolt the wheel to the spacer? If you get what i mean :?

Also have some pictures of this red trim round the grill to show you:

It doesn't look as good as it would on the other colour GTI's but i think it gives a subtle break up of the grill and the front of the car. Haven't seen any other red ones with it on so thought i would give it a go. What do you think?

I agree. Personally don't think it breaks up anything. But thats my opinion. I have been meaning to do mine now for 6 months.
