Right, I am now officially a powder coater. So I thought I would start with a quick and simple job. My chrome scorpion DTM to matt black

Next will be the wheels once I have found a spare set to borrow for a few days.

Just fitted. I think the black looks hood against the red. That's my opinion.

i have decided to stay away from the bling factor, lol. The only thing staying shiney is the GTI badge.

wheels should be up next week and need to find some lowering springs ASAP.

then I will think about selling it :(

I have spent all week getting my wheels ready for the refurb at work tomorrow. I have never seen a set of wheels so badly corroded and pitted,

I had them in the "special acid" at work which is a beast!!!

Sanded, and sanded, and sanded and now they are finally ready for powder coating. My job charges usually £150 for a set to be done as we don't use the cheap powder like most companies. Ours is £25 per kg that I'm using. (don't tell anyone but it's the same as the one we use for the euro fighter job) I will get some pics up when completed.

Wheels look great! Really good job! I wish I could powdercoat stuff,
The badge looks great I like the black 'I' works well with your colour scheme

My car is booked in to the body shop for some repair work tomorrow so I will get them to touch up a few bits whilst it's there. Like, door handles, boot handle, rear bumper is the last of the laquar peel left and maybe gloss black my splitter too.

Got to love insurance work. Hope they take their tome as I am ordering new G60 steels tomorrow. Not too sure what colour to go? Maybe black with metal flake in it(bling bling) or a really dark candy black.

G60's ordered today. :)

spoke to the body shop and having all door handles, boot handle and lower passanger door painted for £100. Not bad as paint would cost £30 and bad weather and time. Forgot to ask about gloss black splitter so will have to call them Monday.

Then it's roof and mirrors gloss black next. It's finally getting up to standard after 6 months and how bad it was when I got it.
