I don't understand!
Before I drove here though I topped up my coolant (which is leaking at the thermostat housing, don't understand why as the housing and seals are brand new, replacing a badly fitted old one that had to be broken off, which replaced the one cracked when the HG went in 2003) and when I took the cap off the expansion tank it went pffffffft like it was pressurised.
This was at 3pm, the car hadn't been driven since 10pm yesterday. Surely it shouldn't still be pressurised?
I'll check out the dizzy cap now the engine's cooled down again, but I'm concerned that once again my head gasket may have blown.
On the flip side, my brakes are beginning to bed in and I like the setup!
Knowing my luck I'll end up with a demon G40 engine too!

Sounds like head gasket

Ah pig balls, it's only done 12,000 miles since that last happened!
Just what I was worried about.
If it is the head gasket I'm a bit f*cked really, I can't get a new engine till I finish Uni, I don't really have time.
I'll try and find time to get it to a garage this week, see if someone can have a look at it and say for sure if it is the head gasket.
If it is the head gasket, I won't be repairing it, I'll break the engine up.
If not I'll grab some of those spark plugs and get the seal repaired.
If the housing has cracked again, I think it's safe to assume I've got a bit of a problem here.
Just my luck!

One of those occasions where my girlfriend being at Uni in Sheffield would be handy!
Thanks for the offer, but I'm gonna have to take this somewhere local, I'm pretty bogged down with work and car problems are the last thing I bloody need right now!
Do you reckon there's a chance it's the head gasket Dan?
