Which pads?

Probably 5 x 112 and 5 x 100 for VW applications, but to be honest I didn't even notice it till you pointed it out. This is just a PR pic from Zimmermann that I took off the site that sold me the stuff.

So what's your opinion on Zimmer's then? Dub Envy isn't too keen on them apparently, but I have heard lots of good things about them on the German boards. I've already bought them btw, but still interested in your opinion.

@Karl:

Perhaps those new pads are quieter than the DS2000? (in order for them to be more average-user-friendly) or are those DS2000's quiet as it is now?

Not sure - i have a friend that works for a magazine over here, i'm waiting for him to do a road test on them so i can get some more info

ive never used them cos ive posted what ive used on the polo and on my golf it was only ever stock discs and padgid blue pads (very good combo btw) and on my dads merc a class i fitted omp road and sport pads (not bad for a pensioner hahaha)

I know you haven't used them yet, but you would consider them though right?

By the way, the UK crowd have a better range of choices than we do on the continent IMO. The only other option I can find here is EBC/Greenstuff...

Braided brake hoses - be careful VW have been fiting these for a few years now and they are shrouded in rubber for extra protection - check before you change them as you may already have braided lines.

EBC Green Stuff - From personal experience I think they are fab and have never heard of any complaints (What have you heard Josh?) the best thing about these pads is you are not left with brake dust all over your alloys at the end of a week.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll ask around to know for sure. On the other hand, the current brake hoses are 6 years old now... The car will be lifted soon (to get the wheels alligned again) so I'll check the condition then.

Less brake dust is a nice advantage btw.

Thanks Ash, I will. I just found out that sending money (registered, via mail) isn't too expensive. Shipping won't cost a fortune either if it's light and/or small. Prices here (in Holland) are quite high, they justified getting the discs (that weigh a ton) from Germany...! Even with shipping they're a bargain. So in short, I may take you up on your offer to get pads and lines, for instance.

Only quote I've gotten so far is 135â‚¬ for a set of Ferodo DS2000 pads, from a German supplier.

No lines found yet, or any other offers on pads for that matter.

addx is only in france and is bassically max power with different text, less birds and about 2 moths later
