well the general rule is that the sub frame should be a touch (3/8" higher than the ball joints so that when there are 2 poeple in the car the bottom arms are nearly horizontal as after you go past horizontal you get the over centre effect and the handleing suffers a little but if you can set your suspension up hard enough so that there is barely and traval then you can go past horizontal however on the mk4 and 5 polo you cant, reliably go much lower than 100mm as the drive shaft hits the subframe, chassis leg, and the rear of the sump. saying that im aiming for -140 next year and if not that then -12 will have to do. remember though i think that if you wind the coils up and down just for the show its cheating so i will be driving home at that height

Seriously knackering shocks is not a funny thing...it's one of the causes that I had a near serious accident which wrote off my MK3 Coupe.

my mk4's dropped 85mm on 16s and it looks good and outhandles most cars i raced it against and theres hardly any bodyroll but ride is a little rough

its gotta b coilovers lads!! :wink:
