when i picked mine up new in 03 i asked the dub dealer whats the biggest i could go, (i was new in the scene)
he said 16's so when i picked it up with 0 miles on the clock i drove half a mile down the road to have some 16's put on
a few months went by and chrome weels were everywhere and i was jealous so i upgraded to some chrome wheels, thought id be a nutter and go for 17's
then i saw project 4play (elliott roberts from performance vw's mk4) on a set of audi rs8 rimms
i had to have em
they were only in 18 or 19's though so i thought i'll see if they'll fit. £800 and three days later i was rolling on 18's, other than winding my coilovers up a couple of times they went straight on, no fuss, no rubbing, no arch work and they look the nuts. for the past year now ive been driving a black 3dr 9n on coilovers and 18inch rs8's. YEAH BOOIIY!!

Yeah 18's do look good but in my honest opinion they would look far better if the car was slammed right over them! This is impossible without any arch work! Seen your car andy a E38! Was nice
I run 17" wheel with my coilovers right down to the bottom, still think the car is too high, so I'm considering going down to a set of 16"! Size isnt everything you know!

17" to 18"
hi, i have a set of 17" multi spoke and dropped 30mm and think they are too small but the spokes are small and it makes the wheels look tiny, i was thinking of going for 18" and maybe dropping it more as it is sitting a good 2" out of the arch, can anyone give advice on what to do, i.e. go for bigger wheels or get 17" again and drop it 60mm, i am wanting it to be sitting just in the arches, i don't really want to have to do any arch work but will do to get the look am after.

p.s. here are a couple of pics of what i want it to look like, thing these are on 18" the bottom one with the crome rims is what i want mine looking like, already have blacked out lights and mesh grill and trying to find a good design of wheel, maybe even crome
