I had a K&N panel filter on my gti for a few months before I fitted the bmc and it did make the engine more responsive and a tad louder, it was very good for the price, but you will soon get used to it and want more. The BMC sounds perfect on the gti, it completely transform the sound of the car, gives it a nice increase in torque and the engine doesn't feel a bit strangled at high revs anymore, its expensive alright but worth it !
