How easy is it to remove the rear wiper motor assembly from the hatch - or do you even have to? I'm thinking of taking this route for the show season then having the motor and wiper on one side ready to be fitted for the winter months...
MM, I'm putting my wipers, front and rear, back to standard with a view to part-exing against a new Polo GTI, or at least that's the plan! My local dealership would much prefer it if the car is standard as it will be easier for them to sell on

Well its not difficult at all.
Remove the rear plastic panel by undoing the 2 star key bolts in the plastic handle bits. Then just pull it off carfully.
3 bolts remove the motor, but you have to take the rear wiper arm off first.
Once the Arm and motor is loose just disconnect the power plug and water line.
Replace the grommet with a blank one, with no hole.

Also, may i add, you can cable tie the water pipe to the boot drainage hole, this means if you press the button by accident and some comes out it will just drain out of the bottom,
.
Once you take the boot plastic off its pretty easy to see how its done. Cant really go wrong.
