No worries, hope you get it sorted.

Just put sound deadning in my boot really easy to do, Use plenty of heat for it to stick to the body work i used a hair dryer but a heat gun would work well!

Also if you sub is still to base'e for you try and turn the low pass filter down to 70-80htz this will cut all vocals out of the sub and play nice low notes, then just increase or decrease your input level to produce a good tone!

If your head unit has a "loud" within the unit (should be in the sound put of the unit) turn that off this will turn excess power to the speakers off which will make them more gentle to the ears!

too much bass! is there such a thing?!
the bf had an Alpine amp (recently sold on ebay) and a brand spanky new sub... the first time he put it up past 35 on his HU after sounding wicked for about 10 mins... the damn thing over heated, and blew up the sub!! ooops! that was 300 well wasted! :S

Sounds like more gains set too high

If set up right it should in theory run at full volume all day long.

With that kind of power you should be fine, I was running a 600w RMS sub with 400w RMS and I could stil hear my comps over my su, and that was with the fade set more to the rear!
Have you tried altering the settings for the speakers?

if the sub is dual 2 ohm then it will present either a 4 or 1 ohm load to the amp depending on how its wired. more than likely he has a DVC.

I do have a DVC

I jumped to the gun a bit, I wasn't sure whether it was dual 4 Ohm or dual 2 Ohm

Dual 4 is 2 Ohm's or 8 Ohm's (just to correct myself, not 4 Ohm's and 2 Ohm's )

And Dual 2 is 4 Ohm's or 1 Ohm

On my Amp, on the side of it there is a small dial which i can turn up or down for more or less bass.

the EASYEST way to stop your bass problem is get a bass controller, it plugs in to your output cables and you can turn the bass up and down, they usually cost between 10 to 20 £ and are very easy to fit if you can get your headdeck out!
