well theres a few things that make them go in the first place. the one that cuased mine on my punto was driving like a dick. ( mainley racing off from lights wheels spinning and redlining it alot. )


if the coolant system goes or is inificiant it will cause the gasket to go dueto heat buildup. warps the gasket material.

im nto sure if there are any other causes. but i know when the water pump fails it can cause gasket failure.

Mine went around the 65k mark, so your not alone. Mine went for a reason (water pump), thinking about it, I'd rather the head gasket blew, rather than something more expensive went KABOOOOM.
