I'm pretty much with Phill on this one.

There is a general emphasis in modifying that bigger rims automatically mean better. And fair enough if you take that view, it is your car.

But my own personal opinion is that 17's do look "big" on a Mk5 Polo. I mean if what want is to emphasise that you have big rims, then 17s are obviously the way to go.

I however, am going for 16's with a 50mm drop.

Thanks Phill, that shows my point entirely.

When you look at that pic, the main thing which catches your eye are the wheels. So you don't see the car as a whole, but a car with some big wheels on.

Thats my honest opinion anyway. End of the day, each persons car is their own, and no one should really judge them for what they do.

u think 17s look big on a polo?
just imagine 20s (yes u did read it right) on an ibiza!!!!!
big chrome things and the car had tiny little brakes so it was a 1.2 or 1.4!!! how slow would that be??

A agree with Phill and Redline, 16's are just about the biggest that look good, unless like Jordan, you are willing to spend quite a bit on gettin a lot of archwork done so you can go really low.

Thanks jon they are amazing mate. I only want to put 17" on it because gap is big between rim and arch. And want to fill it. I have lowered it 35mm but thats not enough. Think i gonna get the 17" Ace 218 rims with low profile tyres!

bigger wheels wont make the gap smaller really. You just need the car lower on either your current wheels or perhaps 16's.

Look at polopowahs car. hes lowered 75mm on 16's
no gap.

same a s phill he has no gap and hes lowerd majourly on 15's.
