What do people count as a 'full tank' of petrol? Until the end of the petrol gauge or just when the reserve tank light comes on? Sorry if i'm asking something silly.

Super unleaded

I always use super unleaded and I think it lasts longer than normal unleaded (95), thats if you take it easy. Unleaded (95) just disappears no matter how I drive. The most i've had to a full tank is 300miles, but 95% of the time I get 240miles. I worked it out and it equals 28mpg. Pretty shi*e if you ask me. It's worth the fun though

I'm getting on average about 260 from the top of the tank until the light comes on, then I look to fill up. Mostly town miles with some A-road an M-way thrown in. Thats on BP Ultimate mostly, although in recent weeks my nearest BP garage has been undergoing replacement of the underground tanks, so it's been shut. Have been using Optimax from stations in nearby Telford for the last four tanks of fuel and I feel that it is *slightly* better in peformance and economy. BP Ultimate is 97RON, Shell Optimax is 98RON... just *feels* better somehow.

Most I've had from a tank was around the 340 mark, once, after some long-distance A-road cruising :)

Cheers

In my GTi (1.4 100hp) I can make more or less 430miles (700Km) with 42Lts with a VERY VERY light right foot! :P
