It's lowered on a 60mm suspension kit.

Yeah, I've been looking for red, low mileage GTI's at the moment. The priority for the moment though, is to get it taxed and insured, and also get the dent on my nearside rear arch sorted, that some irresponsible person did to my wonderful car. I might be getting myself a porter cable, also as a 20th birthday present soon though, to get rid of those pesky swirl marks .

Ollie, I forgot to ask what tyres you have got fitted on those rims: 195/45/16s or 195/40/16s?

Cheers :)

Ah, cool. I'm probably going back on steelies soon, instead of those audi things, so I can get my RXII's polished (they're already showing a bit of laquer lift already :o). I seem to recall you were going to put some classics on your car, how's that going?

Unfortunately, they're not on sale anymore. They were originally standard equipment on the Golf 3.5 cabriolet, the avantgarde model.

If you want some, you'll have to do a lot of looking on ebay (English and German) for these wheels. There was a set on ebay recently, which looked a little tatty, but repairable. Keep on searching for terms like "BBS 16, BBS 4 stud, BBS RS, BBS RXII, Golf wheels, Golf cabriolet/cabrio/convertible/cabby/etc." I'm fortunate enough to have contacts in the tyre and wheel trade, and got them refurbished with brand new tyres.

Have a look at local tyre and wheel shops, too in their second hand wheels, you may unearth some lying around. :D

Overall, they're VERY hard to acquire. Give 'cyhliu' and 'Redline' a PM, since they both have the same wheels. I think there was another guy in the 'Member's Rides' section with a grey GTI look-a-like. Getting their experiences about their wheels will be invaluable.

You could also go for a set of 16" RX's without the split-rim bolts, and are one-piece. They go for about £800, at a guess, and don't suffer the corrosion problems that RXII's have.

You could always offer me £1500 for mine though.

Those fox wheels aren't too bad, and would look alright on your car. I could help you out with some wheels if you have some sort of price range.

I think the wheels on the polo in the second ebay link must be a 14 or 13 inch wheel, which is probably why they look different.

To be honest, I think the Fox wheels are a bit tacky, and look quite out-dated.

I think the decision of buying wheels has to be properly thought out. As I said, a price range would be helpful, and I could recommend you some decent wheels.
