If you're careful you can spray the screen without the washers having time to pop up.

Prices from VAG Parts

Head lights are £132.50 each +vat this includes bulbs but no ballast units.

Ballast unit £178.37 each +vat

Which gives you a grand total of £730.54 :D
 HOW MUCH?! DAMN!! Euro Car Parts told me it'll cost around £140 each, the complete lamp for right hand drive with the transformer, even that seemed a little steep to me! but once again i've got a story to tell.. i went to a mercedes breakers looking for parts for my dads car and saw they had the polo gti xenon lamps on their shelf.. don't ask why, i still don't know why they had it there?! they hadn't been tested and i couldn't test them before purchase nor get a refund afterwards :? so i took a gamble and paid £120 for the pair, thats right for BOTH! :) they were very tricky to fit, had to relocate the transformer and lengthen the wiring plus the lamps were abit deeper than originals so had 2 squeeze them in! at first one of the lamps wasn't working, but after a while found the bulb had been disconnected whilst squeezing it in, after which to my delight they worked!! :D made hell of alot more difference than i anticipated, was well chuffed with the result... even more so now i know how much of a bargain i got!

(by the way, whats a ballast unit? )
