here we go peeps, some stuff going on my car. firstly a new splitter for the front bumper.... recognise it? u should do, its of a red polo and i got it of a guy from this forum.....u know who its from yet? its dee-vub. i got it from him so next time u see his polo it will be bare at the front. as he managed to hit a speed bump or something ita a bit broke but oh well i can fix it. then i gotta respray it to match my car. then the exhaust, hoping its a direct replacement for the one i got as i have no money to get it fixed so wanna do it myself. will post more pics as i go along.......
as u can see in the picture its has a big crack on the corner, theres a job for me to do b 4 i spray it................
and the back box. sure you'll hate it but i just wanna do this as i dunno if the other one would pass the mot as its quite bad underneath where i caught it on a kirb or something.
im sure you all hate the back box but dont worry..... i wont keep it forever. i plan on chaging it one day.....

now i started. went to halfords to get some stuff to get me started. got a fibre glass kit and some primer and spray paint. the primer without the lid was one i already had. i didnt get everything i needed yet. i figured as i wont need the clear sealer yet i didnt buy it. thought the primer and paint will do me for now.
of course, if ur wondering.......... as it was my first time using fibre glass i thought i better make sure im ready, so i went to another place and got the most important thing. the thing u should have b 4 u start a project like this................. BURGER KING
after this i believe i was prepared to start the job. first thing i did was to clean the areas where i would be doing the fibre glass to get rid of n e dirt...... more like all the dirt. i figured as it cracked in this corner i might as well do the other corner to just to reinforce it a bit more.
once i cleaned it and dried it i then started putting the fibre glass and resin on it. did about 4 layers on each side. then went to pick up my gf from work as i have her car cause mines still in the garage, and went to halfords to to get some more disposable gloves and body filler to do the outside part of the crack.
when i got in a put more ffibre glass on now left it to dry. hopefully it'll be strong enough to take the wood of thats holding it in place but i got a bad feeling it wont work.... if not i'll go for something a bit mroe extreme....... this is wt it looks like so far.
as u can see where the dark black is is where i cleaned it. and the home made clamp made of wood holding it in place with a little wedge.
might do more later tonight. if not prob tomorrow.....

lookin good so far, i just wondered how dee-vub caught it and an oval exhaust would look good, each to their own tho.

Think it was just a dip in the road.....cant really remember.
Just sayin Kip that its good you doing something different with the styling of your car, ie - the exhaust etc.
Looks like your doing an awesome job of the fibreglassing!

well its funny u should say that. this is the update.
here we go then. first image. the fibre glass worked fine so far so i took the clamp of and filled in all the gaps. as u can see i even went round the edges and did the bits where it would of caught on the kirb or roads and stuff.
now the fun begins. the first lot of sanding done. wasnt easy but so far i used rough sand paper to get rid of most of the filler then fine sand paper to do the rest of the filler and splitter.
now the sandins done. i wiped it all with water to get the paint dust and filler dust of then dried it then on with the first coat of primer. as u can see from the pics, the bit where the crack is is not noticable n e more and the scratches underneath rnt noticable either.
this is the corner that was cracked........ cant notice it n e more.
and the last pic for today is the whole thing witht he first coat of primer. now its primed i can see alll the stone dents and stuff. tomorrow i'll probably mxing a bit of filler and filling the holes then sanding again then another coat of primer then see wat it looks like.
as for the exhaust im thinking of many so dunno wat will happen yet.
