it depends on how you drive them and maintain them tho.

you misunderstand.
they arent reliable now, unless you willing spend a small fortune on a decent example.
i do think im slighlty biased as i had a g60 which porbably wasnt well maintained. but they have so many niggling problems, even good models.
but whatever, im sure this thread was about how some guys mate pasted his clio and sold it for £50 ro something

if you want a car that breaks when you look at it, buy a corrado.
i have one on my drive, and if you ask any corrado owner they'll tell you its a labour of love.
worth it, good looking car, goes well.
I totally agree - my Corrado G60 gave me so much grief but the looks alone were worth it!

I think there are good ones and bad ones of every car, i suppose its just unlucky people get the not os good ones, and isn't true that bad information travels more than good?

i'll agree on that

i think the g60 is certainly the worst of hte bunch with regards to reliability.
and yeah its like they say, the evil that men do lives on and on.. well i think that might have been a quote from iron maiden.. but hey.

yeh totally agree on that. The G60 does seem to be really bad for reliabilty.....i dont know why cos the rest of the models im sure would have been just as ragged.
The most reliable seems to be the 1.8 16v!! VR6's arent bad also, but everyone knows they are pretty heavy duty.
Sorry if i was snappy pete.....was just in a realy bad mood:roll:
cheers

tell me about it! i had a weekend away and though damn i was a bit snappy the other day!
no probs.
the 1.8 16v is slow as ass :/
the g60 is unreliable because people never serviced the superchargers, because VW did not stipulate a service interval (about 40k for a std charger) so alot have broken scroll work and worn bearings, and p*** oil

vr6's arent too bad, but timing chains and pinging abound.
i always see em and thinkg "bloody stupid car" followed by "but it looks nice"
my g/f freakin hates them now hah

WTF are you on mate.....you see loads of corrado's with over 200k miles on it and still run sweet as a nut!!! Corrado's are genuinely reliable.
You tell me many other cars that will happily surpass 200k!!!

I have owned Corrados for the past 8 years and each one has been 100% reliable, great to drive and infact all were cheaper to run than my Polo GTI. I was running 2 VR's but recently sold one after four years of ownership for £500 more than I paid for it. How many newer cars manage to beat depreciation?

I'm a long serving member of the Corrado Forum and mine has never broken down
There are common problems with Corrados such as sunroofs and door handles but Corrados breaking down is not usually an issue unless they are abused.

I like Pug306's. Mainly because I had one hehe. Think they look unique. Althought mine did leak and make a loud crunching noise when doing full lock left. Didn't let me down though
Anyway back to the topic, i'm sure he would of made much more than £50. If you told me I have a friend after a Clio. Woulda bought that for about £1-2k!

10 years isn't old. My work car is 17 and I go all over the place in it.
The best bit is, before that, I used an L-reg Escort, and it's probably the best car I've ever had

I only got rid of it because the milage was getting a bit high (130k).
