Ah, happy memories of my original speakers. Blew the left hand one by accident, then put New Order - Confusion (Pump Panel Remix) through them (with the 6x9s turned off) and watched the right hand one tear itself apart.
I have 10cm Kenwood speakers in my dash - Halfords will tell you that won't fit, but half an hour with a Stanley knife sorts that, and the original grilles fit over the top too.

My standard speakers lasted the journey home! Blew them within 1/2 hour

lol my speakers sounded really good for standard! i was shocked! then, my sterio went in, and as they are the only speakers i have in the car, the right one sounds ugly when u have more than level one base! which isn't alot! the left one is ok! really must get those 6x9's in!
