Its a Nikon D80 with the 18-135 lens, although a few of those photos were taken with my old D50.

Just the numbers don't mean a lot Pip. The quality of the lens depends a lot of how good the glass is that goes into making it. Generally with photography as with most things, you get what you pay for. I had the cheapest kit lens (18-55) with my Nikon D50 and the difference between it and my new lens are impressive. It is significantly heavier but pictures produced are sharper and clearer.

My camera and lens cost about the same. The thing with DSLR's is that they possess the ability to take amazing shots if you know the correct way to set them up. I'm still learning all the different settings, but I remember when I got my D50 just over a year ago and I took some awful pictures because I had no idea what any of the setting did!

Looking good Pip, My favourites are the last 2, really like the reflections in the water on one of them and you've managed to get your dog looking right into the camera - I always fail dismally with my cat, he doesn't do posing!

:D yesterday i bought myself the Sony Alpha 100, i've been waiting since like august for the price to drop and i don't think it was going to for ages so i thought "what the hell!"

with my discount it came to £440, bit of a bargain if u ask me :D

its basically a Konica Minolta 5D, sony and KM joined forces, and then KM shut down leaving the technology to Sony. Sony then develpoed and improved certain aspects and changed their names!
