Ithink that mk3 polo's are one of the only vw's that actually look good frenching theplat into the rear bumper. mk2 golfs look gay with smooth boots, polo's look hot!

I too prefer the second one.

Unless you have somewhere decent to put your numberplate, I can't see the point of smooting the boot.

Karl's 6N is a perfect example of it being done right... A nice recess in the bumper, nice and smooth, with hidden lights etc.

I've seen to many cars with smoothed boots that have numberplates slapped on any old way and it looks a bit of an afterthought (no offence to anyone here if that's how theirs is! )

And that red 6N, I think you'll find just had a hole chopped out of it, then plates welded in and smoothed etc. No cutting tailgates in half!

not sure, he just said they welded two tailgates together.

But this was at a show and he hadnt slept for 30 hours so it wasnt really an i depth converstation on the pros and cons of a flush boot

dont think it involves chopping the whole tailgate in two, but you have to cut the plate recess out, chop that in two, then weld wahts left back into another tailgate..

i like the second one... it looks smooth and slinky, similar look to normal but still not totally stock... the plate is in the right place, giving it the right 'balance'. totally flushed backs dont do it for me at all, and they're so easy to completely b*******s up from those i've seen driving around...

....edit... durned stars.... "testicles up" that is... cant think of a more succinct way to put it at this time in the AM
