It fits the car mechanically..but its made in a way that it wont fit into the gti rearskirt cut out..Its made to fit lower than the cut out, at the natural position of the standard bumper..so it would fit at the bottom of the standard bumper but not as high as the cut out!! I dont know how ste-9n fitted his inside the cutout.. I showed the garage his pics and they dont understand either..

i think in that case you'll need a custom made bracket to hold it up at the right position... why didnt you go custom made btw?

Thought maybe the custom build one would have been a bit too noisy..might be forced to get that now.. the bracket idea wont work, as the shape of the actual box is elongated like this (), instead of being elongated horizontally as normal ones are, its elongated vertically..
BTW anyone know how noisy the custom build ones are, dont want to sound like a corsa.. (no offence 2any1)

the whole idea of custom is 'custom' lol

... i would go for custom
you can choose your tailpipe, you can choose the sound it makes... just tel them what you want and they'll do it!
a small back box will make it louder, and two channels make it boomier, and should be around £200 fitted? how much was yours?

just to upd8..thankfully ste-9n2 told me how he got around the same problem..
Basically a new pipe needs to be made up to join it with the front section, its called 'refabricating'..He says its not hard for a good s/s exhaust place to do..
Cheers guys!!

Hopefully the dealer will agree to do it now!
