Yeah if you're looking at a late car you can be talking upto £8-9K.
Downsides I reckoned beyond the cost side was size, manual aircon (both of which are hardly a big deal I guess), and fuel range - around 230 Miles (according to EVO) which could be annoying (although I'd like to see figures from an owner).

for 8k i'd buy a standard one and rob the bumpers n stuff of the GTI

i wouldn't get insured on one anyway i don't think (well not for under3k lol)

yeh well i just got a bearing carrier off a 2005 lupo gti, hasnt been out of production that long.....whaen did the fox come out again? since thats what replaced it.

Anyways i'd defo have a lupo GTI....theres a really nice one in aberdeen absolutely decked on some black bathursts! Wouldnt do anything else

yeah i also am in the process of trying to MAKE my gf buy a lupo 16v just so i can mod it! and if anyone says "its too girly" then why the F**k are they on a polo site its not exactly macho bullsh*t! - if were all honest we chose a polo cos were not affraid to show our feminine side, thought golfs were too obvious (handy down or just cant afford a golf!!! ) i say f**k it ive seen some heavy lupos, and if you can force your gf into buying 1 just for your own selfish pleasure i dont see anything wrong with it.
