So I take it you're likely to fail an MOT with them on? Or are they designed for us leftys?

lol havnt done much in ages coz its been raining like forever! bloody english summer! Painted my brake callipers red (nice cheap easy mod, looks cool) and whacked on some mud flaps, about all ive done lately. Been pouring most of my time into fixing up the red polo which ive got back from the insurance now, thats coming along nice to. Will get some pics next time i work on the car.

yay! finally a day when its not raining! Got around to fitting my 16 valve bumper today which has been sitting in my shed 4 couple of weeks. Looks good, any1 no where i can get the grills and tow hook cover to go in this though? Made the silly mistake of assuming thse may be part of the grille. Also stuck in a kenwood tri-split crossover and couple of 5" kenwood subs, cost me £5 for the lot of ebay! Gives a great little rumble to music without being too bassey.

Looking good mate. Come a long way since you got it. Any plans regarding door handles? I think I recall a previous thread where you mentioned it, any news regarding this?

cheers mate. yeh i looked into the door handles it would have cost me £500 to do the back doors so dehandling smoothing painting and solenoids fitted, not too bad a price, but i just dnt have £500

can I just say automatics cost more, hence a p reg polo costs about £800 if its in reality whereas an auto would cost a bit more maybe £1200-£1500.

Which is annoying for automatic drivers, some garages go crazy, currently on auto trader( or last week) a t reg corsa auto was £2750 which is completely outrageous no matter how good condition. My dad has a t reg corsa d and that was £4000 4 years ago and its now worth nothing to £200.

Anyway just saying automatics always cost more and keep better value

For insane people look at the price of vw golfs with the usual massive mileage. Trying to find a vw golf that hasnt done 100k is quite difficult., but some people seem willing to pay £6to 8k for a car thats done 100k, which is insane

Man, I wish I could do the stuff you do. I can't do jack...I gotta pay garages to do the most minor of things lol.

lol mate when i first started with cars i couldn't even change a wheel! Youve just gotta experiment and have a little faith in yourself lol. Polo is a good car to start with, my 1st car was a 4 year old Leon and i thaught "nice new expensive car, don't really dare to do anything myself!" but polo isnt worth so much so feel better about doing it. And MK4 polos are like industrial lego, everything comes apart really easy lol. Theres loads of good tutorials on here as well and plenty of people to give advice, just start with little basic things and work your way from there
